Uncompromising quality

Alto Totihue has ideal conditions for crafting exceptional wines, with its unique terroir. Our vineyards are nestled in the foothills of the Andes, and enjoys a Mediterranean climate characterized by wet winters and dry summers,  that allows for slow and balanced grape ripening. The nutrients and minerals of the soil allow us to make wines with complexity and depth. The proximity to the mountains causes a significant diurnal shift, and allows the grapes to mature optimally, maximizing the expression of the grapes' flavors and aromas.

At Casas del Toqui, we are committed to producing wines that not only meet but exceed our customers' expectations. We adhere to the highest international standards in our winemaking process, which requires meticulous grape selection, uses first class French oak barrels, and  allows time for bottle aging, giving our wines time to mature and develop their unique character. Every step is carefully monitored by our team to ensure each wine reaches its maximum potential, ensuring that every bottle meets our high standards.

Alto Totihue: a place of tradition

Located in the heart of the Cachapoal Valley wine region, one of the most prestigious wine regions in Chile, our winery is in Alto Totihue, a special place that has a rich history and is deeply connected to the history of this area.

The name "Totihue" comes from Mapudungun, the language of the indigenous Mapuche people, and means "meeting or gathering place", a place where communities would gather to share knowledge, traditions, and culture, which underscores the importance of this site for the communities that have inhabited this land for centuries.

The history of Totihue is closely tied to the Toqui, who were Mapuche leaders who fought to defend their territory and culture. Their bravery and leadership continue to inspire us today, and their legacy remains a source of inspiration and pride for the region.

Inspired by this rich history and heritage, at Casas del Toqui we strive to create wines that pay homage to the rich history and culture of Alto Totihue. Our wines are the result of careful grape selection, artisanal winemaking, and a passion for viticulture. Each bottle reflects the connection that we have with the land, tradition, and culture of the region, and our commitment to quality and tradition is reflected in every bottle.

Our history

The story of Viña Casas del Toqui begins when renowned French winery, Château Larose Trintaudon discovered Alto Totihue. They believed that the unique, fertile land of this area within the Cachapoal Valley, with its ideal climate and soil conditions, would allow them to produce world-class wines in Chile. In 2010, the Court Rollan family bought the winery and to this day remains committed to producing world-class wines that embody the uniqueness of this area.
